If you’ve followed Public Market recently, you’re aware that our 14-acre mixed-use site is undergoing a redevelopment.
Comprising restaurants, retail, offices and housing, Public Market Emeryville is known for our Food Hall, which is finished with renovation and is now undergoing construction of individual stalls and spaces for new tenants.
Along with the overhaul of the Food Hall, construction is well underway on a new grocery store, New Seasons Market. Other forthcoming development includes over 450 units of housing, 43,000 additional square feet of retail and restaurants, street upgrades, and a complete renovation and expansion of nearby Christie Park.
FOOD HALL UPDATE
This major renovation burnished the Food Hall’s original industrial brick and timber structure – with its high ceilings, skylights and wood beams – in numerous ways:
- Updating the skin on the exterior
- Adding unique touches, such as fire-pits in the northern entrance and more outdoor seating
- Installing new design elements and artwork from local artists, including: a living wall, knotted rope light sculptures; a playful rooster mural; a wall mosaic of pebbles; and a whimsical geometric mural
NEW FOOD HALL TENANTS
Recently opened tenants Fish Face Poke Bar, The Periodic Table Bar, Mr. Dewie’s Cashew Creamery and Paradita Eatery joined purveyors Mayo & Mustard, We Sushi, Oui Oui! Macaron, Wazwan, Shiba Ramen, KoJa Kitchen and anchor restaurant HOT ITALIAN. In the upcoming winter and spring months, watch for these new tenants:

NEW SEASONS MARKET GOES VERTICAL
Vertical construction is complete for the 30,000 square-foot grocery store, which is located adjacent to the Food Hall and will anchor the greater Public Market redevelopment. New Seasons Market is a Portland-based, neighborhood grocer known for its mission-driven model. The building also includes and public parking garage. Additionally, the building will house 66 residential units.
