Indoor Dining Reopens in the Food Hall

Dear Public Market Community,

We are thrilled to reopen indoor dining at Public Market Emeryville. In accordance with Alameda County rules, the Food Hall can welcome up to 50% capacity or maximum 200 guests at a time. Our spacious outdoor patios continue to be open for dining.

Public Market staff will monitor guest capacity. Only masked guests will be allowed entry. We will also encourage guests to depart the food hall after they have finished dining. We have arranged our seating areas for small parties and marked areas for appropriate social distancing when ordering from our purveyors. Public Market staff and the Food Hall purveyors will be working together to ensure that social distancing guidelines are adhered to.

While the last year has been challenging for everyone, we are delighted to announce that nearly all Public Market purveyors have reopened. Please check here for a full list of businesses and their hours. Most all purveyors continue to offer delivery and takeout, as well as on-site dining.

Since the beginning of Shelter-in-Place, Public Market installed a cleanliness infrastructure with rigorous health protocols (outlined below). More room for you to be generously socially-distanced. More room, indoors and out.

Public Market has always been dedicated to cleanliness for the health and safety of our customers, tenants and staff. Now, we have implemented an even higher standard.

Heightened Sanitizing Processes and Infrastructure:

  • Daily disinfections of all common areas.
  • Hand sanitizer stations at each entrance.
  • Shields installed at all customer/tenant point of sale areas.
  • Continuous cleaning of dining surfaces throughout the food hall and outdoor spaces.
  • All Food Hall staff wear face coverings.
  • All Food Hall staff must be healthy to come into work.
  • Installation of makeup air units, which circulate fresh, external air throughout the Food Hall.
  • Single-use trays only from purveyors.

Social Distance Protocols:

  • Seating is spread six feet or more apart, diffused throughout the food hall and onto new outdoor spaces.
  • Face coverings required of all Public Market guests.
  • All queue areas are marked for six feet apart.
  • Signage throughout the Food Hall reminds people to maintain social distance and wear masks.

We look forward to continuing to nourishing you AND doing our part to keep you safe! See you soon.
