Our Food Hall Welcomes New Owners

We’re delighted to announce a new ownership group for the entire Public Market Emeryville project. Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group has joined forces with our current leadership, City Center Realty Partners (CCRP). The new team will help ensure the continued success of our beloved Food Hall, as it adds more capital investment into the entire project.

Public Market’s popular Food Hall was a key attraction for the new ownership group, which noted that it is a great amenity for workers and residents. The 14.5 acre redevelopment also comprises life-science space, office, retail, mixed-use residential, parks and open space.  Top on the agenda for Oxford and CCRP is construction of a new 200,000 square foot life science building, which was entitled by the City of Emeryville last year. The repositioning of the Public Market is not a wholesale, project-wide conversion to biotech and will move forward selectively.

CCRP’s team completely renovated and repositioned the Food Hall in 2017 to create a food destination and gathering experience. Today, Public Market boasts 17 independent, locally-owned eateries, including several award-winning purveyors such as Paradita, Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement, C CASA, Pig in a Pickle, Shiba Ramen and the Public Bar. Napa-based Jayna Gyros opened at Public Market in October.

We look forward to a successful post-pandemic future!
