As you find yourself wandering through the renovated Public Market Food Hall, you’ll notice many changes, perhaps the most unique being the variety of art installations from local artists, including the Mural, by Ollie Glatzer.

Oakland native and artist/designer Ollie Glatzer produced the dynamic geometric mural now gracing the walls of Public Market. Glatzer says he has “a natural curiosity for form and how structures work together.” Materials he works with include house paint, paint pens and spray paint. A musician by training, Glatzer is an audio designer in the video game industry. Recently, he’s seeing a musical language to his visual artwork, as well.

Being a native of Oakland, Glatzer remembers when the Public Market first opened and was delighted to work on this project for the building. Visit the Market today to enjoy this unique mural and the other artwork inside the renovated Food Hall.
